PAINTINGS

You’ll find work I’ve completed since the early ’90s on this site.  There are oil paintings of golf courses in fine detail, pencil drawings of some iconic people, and free-flowing watercolours.

Most recently, I’ve been working in watercolour, which is my preferred medium.  I love the unpredictability of watercolour; every time I apply paint to paper, it is an experiment; the reaction of the paint to the surface and the colours used alongside is truly remarkable to watch and never fails to amaze.  And as the paper continues through the drying process, the picture develops, hopefully into something extraordinary.

FEATURED WORK

I have identified some of my favourite paintings in the featured work section.  They may not necessarily be the best ones, or indeed pictures that you like; they are simply the ones I like.  They have been selected because I like the result; sometimes, it is achieved because I intended it; others because the watercolour process took over and resulted in something unique and entirely unexpected.

PRINTS

The website features a selection of paintings and pencil drawings that available in print format.  Firstly, there are prints taken from detailed oil paintings of famous Scottish golf courses such as St Andrews, Turnberry, Royal Troon, Prestwick and Gleneagles.  Other images are from my pencil drawings featuring some of the most iconic people, both past and present.  All images are supplied signed and unframed.

Latest Work

As the title suggests, this section features my latest work.  At the moment, these are all watercolour paintings completed for my own satisfaction.  I also undertake commissions.  I’m willing to consider any commission, but I will respectfully decline the offer if I think it is out of my range of capabilities.  That said, I do like a challenge, so please ask me; I will be happy to discuss it with you.
